once I drank a glass of misery
turned it up
drank it down
I had the audacity
to act surprised
when misery hung around
I heard
misery likes company
so I drank another round
asked God to help me
said I'd reform
if He would
just this one time
rid me of misery
next day it was gone
I shouted hallelujah!
felt so good
went out and bought
cheap California burgundy
just to celebrate
don't'cha know
drank a bit too much that night
felt it bad
in the morn
took a sip of the
dawg whot bit me
guess you can guess the rest
took to the warm red wine
drank up my home
lost my wife
children
dog ran off with the cat
a sad sack I was
God, I pleaded
help me out heah
get me over this crisis
won't n'er do it again
God hesitated
I added I'll start going to your house
every Sunday
you'll see me
every Sunday
I'll be there
by that afternoon
my craving was gone
thought so good about it
I rolled a dubie
for to commemorate the day
floating on that escapism
cloud
I liked that feeling
then
heard of something called
speed
that sounded 'bout right to me
within a years' time
strung out on the spike
no veins left
to pierce
what am I gonna do
Dear God in Heaven
ya gotta help me
I've really done it this time
I'm riding the big H horse
killing me
what do you want me to do, God
I'll do it
anything
please
I'm begging
this is what
He said to me

you are a fool
a hypocrite
a liar
and a user of My Good Will

I begged
pleaded
cried and sniveled
God had mercy
solved my problem
like he had before
made me feel so good
I drank a glass of misery

Haha! That's about as good a comment it could have gotten. Haha again. Thanks for the early morning chuckle.

Ain't that jus the way it goes from feelin good to remorse to feelin good.

I did all those things myself and sometimes they went down real smooth....

26.5 G disposable.....Yep, been there but thought I'd come back, there's just a few hundred people I gotta make it up to. I'm lookin forward to that.

I read ya Jerry...This is good!
No more 200 dollar Jones....no more!

Yep, Eric, there is a lot of us out there in this same boat. You can never make up for certain things, but you can start by forgiving yourself. Took me many, many years to figure that out although people kept telling me that I needed to do it. Finally found a way. The past is the past. Nothing you can do about it now.

Thanks for being here.

Jerry, thanks for telling it like it is and keeping it real enough that those who've been touched by it can relate. ebm

Sometimes I wonder how we mortals live as long as we do the way we treat our bodies and mind.

Thank you for being here, ebm.

There's just no bargaining
with the guy in charge.

Good read, Jerry.

Keeping it real.
