I remember holding you knowing a bright future ahead of those pretty blue eyes thinking I would be there for every tear every smile or just to be there spending endless hours for no particular reason at all You were a little angel sent to save me from myself a gift from heaven for me to care for till time for your return Now we are apart a thing that I never imagined or conceived of a violent separation of you and I now lost You are now but a distant voice on a telephone scattered hollow text across a screen which seems shorter and fainter every year I dreamed when you were born you were a beautiful angel yet to get her wings now they are almost full grown and I was no where to be found as you learn to soar above the clouds above our earth bound eyes I feel but an observer in the scheme of immaculate creation I blinked a decade gone before I opened my eyes I fear to let sleep or idleness take me lest I lose another and you have returned to heaven to sing among the angels leaving me here to wonder how I let you and time slip so fast through my fingers. |

I relate. Big time. We have to find the right way to forgive ourselves before the heartache is gone. I never used to believe that, Brad, but I do now, because after many decades I found that way of forgiveness last October. The hurt is still there, but I have reconciled with myself that what happened then was in the past and no amount of hand-wringing would ever alter that. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |
