He's scheduled for home just after dawn;
it's been two weeks that he's been gone.
He'll slip into bed next to me
and pull me close, silently.

How long I have thought about it,
the very moment I feel him again,
I love waking out of sleep
to the best that love has ever been.

I suppose I should lay down,
I know it will take awhile
to get myself to sleeping,
knowing he's closer by the mile.

I'll be dreaming while he's driving
till he finally pulls up to the door-
and soon the moment I live for
will be Anticipation no more.

You describe so well the longing and joy of separation and rejoining!

Beautifully written!
