Loveliness caught me staring vivid emerald eyes stared back unblinking asking the unasked touching my soul deeply saying she understood approved of this visual tête-à-tête Meandering stream rippling surface current beneath antediluvian oak laden with vibrant green leaves nature's awning a blanket spread impending lovers cool gentle zephyr unable twin passion to impede My trembling hand she took to her breast natural crimson lips touched my bone dry mouth lingered there tasting of jasmine sachet tentative tongue scorched mine set off simultaneous sighs We have some time whispered mouth against my ear hot against passion spent tangled skirt twisted pants strewn hodgepodge here and there I knew not words to answer Old am I now life lived did survive never forgot nameless girl ancient oak summer days of love tender and good jasmine smells memory haunted by her words We have some time . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(&#!$! |

I know, Sunshine, we all have our memories. I have been blessed in that regard. Some stand out like the nameless girl. Yep, ebm, and all that time we never once gave thought that it wouldn't be there forever. I guess that is best that we didn't. What is youth but forever. |

Yup, she was like that ds, a mystery girl to us all. Amaryllis, I never forgot my mystery girl on a lonely Alabama road in the early sixties. This poem sparked a novel which I named, "Unholy Pursuit," and when the character tries to look her up it turns out she was a vampire. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(&#!$! |

Sounds fascinating, J! And sounds like the protagonist was a lucky fella, in more ways than one...  . ...she didn`t chomp him!  . I wonder if that one fella...dark hair, deep eyes.. remembers me from time to time...lol I`m sure our past co-stars do in fact allow our memory to light upon them from time to time. At least I like to hope they do. |

Oh, I am certain that guy with the deep, dark eyes has visions of you quite frequently, Amaryllis. As far as not getting "chomped," the Joe John Jefferies (named him for my three brothers, Joe, John and Jeffery), the protagonist did get a small, sliver of a nip in the throat. Enough to give him some problems later in life. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(&#!$! |

This had such a gentle touch...rather like reading a yellowed edge-worn letter that had been folded and re-folded until the creases had worn out. Very nicely done--you manage "personal" much more artfully than I. Enjoyed, yet again. |

Funny how when we reach the time that we have little time left we recall the days when we had so much time. Where did all that time go??? A poem to make one think....nicely done. |
