Did you ever give in to it the silence draping the hours and collecting like smoke in rafters surrender to the inward pull lock the front door, though no one comes to call ignore the phone`s insistence thankful for the polite digital gal who takes and saves the not-so-important message stay in your nubbly flannels all the molasses day munch cereal like a toddler in your bed devour a book or three and nap between, just flowing with the moments when your lids take you to dreams did you ever snuggle tight into delicious decadent sloth secret smiling into downy pillows at the delightful laziness and gather your will to sit up and write to write, and write a twenty-four hour feathery, velvet butterscotch cotton sickday poem? Well, did you? |

I haven't but I would love to! There were times that I would sit in a bathtub of hot water and read for hours, pausing only to freshen up the hot water....good times, even though I looked like a prune when I got out. Now, even though I've gotten too old to get into hot water, I'm still prunish....go figure! ![]() |

A time or two It was my due To lie like you With naught to do To be in bed Where book I read Wrote what was said Dreamt like the dead And though they're sought These days of naught They can't be got Cus' works my lot So write I must When time is just A thing I lust And sleep's a bust Your's was an enjoyable read. Thanks for the inspiration. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |
