Shiny silk dress hugged her body
The dame stood over me
I could tell she wasn't my angel
By the way she filled out that red dress
She leaned over to whisper in my ear
Showing more than
She should've
After all, I'm a man
Even if I'm lying in the stinking gutter

Hey Shamus, remember me?

Couldn't place the face
Never would forget those legs
And the way they held her body up
The rest of her wasn't bad either
I wondered why I was flat on my back
I wondered more why
The dame was flashing me
And holding a gat
Closed my eyes, decided I didn't want to know

Wanna know who did this to you?

The voice and the legs and the . . . rest
Sounded and looked familiar
Something told me
The rest I didn't want to know
I squeezed my arms into my chest
Trying to feel my .38
Wasn't there
I was naked even though dressed
She wasn't through talking

It's a good thing I came along.

I never turn down a dame
Who wants to give a helping hand
After pushing myself up
And checking out my frame
Nothing out of place
No blood, no extra holes
Nasty bump on my head
Felt woozy like I'd been on a bender
Zeroed in on the gat gal

Recognize me?
Last time you saw me you were rude
Ran me out of your office
All because I wanted to waste my hubby
Anything coming back to you Shamus?

Trouble
That's what I named her the day
She sauntered into my office
I sent her packing
Knew then I'd see her again
Like I said
Girls like her always have a story
Stories about unpleasant men in their lives
Cause they never learn

Come on, Shamus, I gotta car close by

Film noir comes to passions!  A nice depiction of a femme fatale and an unlucky man who crossed her path.

Also shades of Mickey Spillane in dialog.

Yeah, Spillane was my early hero, never forget the first book I read by him, I think it was the first one he wrote, I, The Jury. Thanks Eric.
