Whose Song October |

The leaves still holding wear a bedraggled frown of wet And the sumac has shed her bright red gown to stand in shiver As scouring wind scrubs the lawn half clean of what’s left Of those that have fallen before to lie a soggy mat October spends its ends in brown and grey Contemplating the sleep lidded sun as might a lover Who wakes first to see the other rouse Knowing they will rise and dress disheveled rush With half smiles and promised calls Before letting go of door as it closes Hickory’s staggered sway at slap of wind Bleeds final yellow stems and colours swirl When eddies form in confusion of straight walled lines And lichen green bole revealing false calm That lets them settle in drifts What month this herald begins of fallow bed In wait for pale dress white to rest stare eyed watch of door For signs her lover has returned Knowing when he did He would leave again in time And she would dread the month’s soft N As it begins to sing of snow She weeps within her loam And I contemplate the Sumac’s nude form While along the limestone bluffs the Blue Lies in hushed drape of mist Whispering I am Your home |

I feast on the visual banquet you've provided... even as my heart is touched by the yearn and longing. Brilliant work, my friend! |

Ms Mae... thank you ma'am, for the kind words. The Blue...and that home, exist only in dreams and words ma'am. A yearning in aggregate feebly described then draped on these pages your kindness, is truly appreciated |

In amazing melancholy beauty this piece plays the blues that don't necessarily overwhelm but simply heal from accepted reality within. Yes, the cycles are always reminders of the various gifts of life. Very nice work!! Eric |

Cpat, As always the visuals never disappoint, your descriptive powers outstrip that of mere mortals. I am both humbled, and inspired by your words. Doc |

Hickory’s staggered sway at slap of wind Bleeds final yellow stems and colours swirl When eddies form in confusion of straight walled lines And lichen green bole revealing false calm That lets them settle in drifts ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I love that verse. Makes me want to laugh and weep at the same time...I suppose in anticipation of the changing seasons, and for the days, months, and years that have passed into one another... suffice to say, I am always overcome with emotion after reading you. Thank you for coming back to the blue pages. Many hugs to you, Cpat~ |

Man, you do have a way around words, descriptive phrases and down to earth old fashioned poem-writing. I can learn from you. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |
