Chains and Things She took small steps. The soft October moonlight Beamed through the blinds Creating a black and white Slide show on her naked body. Outside, the gentle breeze Rustles fall leaves Around the deck Quietly, And with the grace Of a dancer that she was, She slid her long body Next to mine. Her dark skin, Standing in stark contrast To my clean white sheets, Moved against mine with A need that couldn’t be denied. Us together broke rules. Us together knew none. On a cool fall evening The moonlight smiled On two people. Two sets of arms reaching out. Two hearts sharing Two lonely people finding In the ecstasy of the union, A haven from the differences This world would chain them with. I'm surprised no one has commented on this... you address in a sensual and tender way how differences can be overcome and how the chains of "convention" are not always enough to keep us from finding refuge with someone who shares... enjoyed! |
