I was walking with that small surprise Of wind that took the men of the stores With their wingtip shoes, business suits Stopping them in the tracks of the rain Where the trains and left lanes Pleased the quiet skies, Touched the lights of each apartment Stacking up on one another, I walked with a sudden siege of clarity Of a walk that touched the kinds of people I loved That I wanted to care about, to care for the hidden gems And rocks that took the alleys and found truth in my heart Truth for whatever type of person I was And I still didnÕt know. I still didnÕt know what my face resembled So sometimes I just need to stop and think about it. Sometimes I need to just walk with the angels, Walk alone, where the world is watching. |
