These monstrous vague inanities

pomposities

madden me

assumptions

with conclusions

wrong

through abject shoulders

in shrug's assent

I see how you might think that

but no

allow me one moment

with your grease pen

and a glass

I'll show you--here--

right here, this one?

should wear brackets

then the sum

squared

reduce before you multiply

and lean into the gradient

strke through your errors with vigor

lest you forget what you have learned

was wrong

so let's just leave it there

like bones in fetal clutch of graves

with stones in random eloquence

oh do not scream in Dante's cave

honor them, the numbers, scored -

the witless dead discovered gold

while digging for the sun.

You never fail to amaze me...
especially when in pain.

I did not know there was an actual Dante's Cave, a karst cave in Slovenia... but now I do, thanks!

This reader has been a bit remiss in the mathematics department at times, but I get the gist of the last few lines here. Very well put, indeed.

Oh Celeste Celeste,  If pie are square then how many more pieces can you get in comparison to pie are round???

Great angry sadness in this my dear. Love the trail off into the accomplishments of the witless dead......Not everyone can claim that.

Love your stuff!!

Thanks to those who were undaunted by the mathy language--the stuff gives me the shudders too.

I DID once get an A in math, though, not because I was good at it, but because I could translate for the teacher. (He wasn't foreign, he was gay. I didn't think that interfered with his ability to teach math and was vocal to the class about that.)

He made me his little assistant, though, because I had a pretty good comraderie with my peers that year, and he overheard me once telling one of them to stop looking at the whole equation and giving up in frustration.

Do the easy parts first. Get the answers down that you know are true, and then proceed with procedure.

As for me? Nope, never learned how to get the answers myself. But I got an A that year and the teacher let me play on that overhead projector thingie and doodle with the grease pen.

I got an A.

If y'wanna know what the poem is about?

*shrug*

It's all in the title. *wink*

But I had to write more than THAT.

Love to you all. *smoochies*

I never assume when reading you because I know from the start I would not come to the corect conclusion. But I love the sound of your words and I will say yes to anything you write.
