Let Love Die Say what isn’t true, when love implodes. Force it back into the hidden darkness, heedless of the desire that lives on. Trod heavy on feelings that once sustained your life, trying to ignore emotions that were so gently nurtured and strengthened. Sever the heart strings, For they can suffer the Weight of the pain No longer. Close your eyes, Lower your head, turn around and let love die. Zeitgeist |

I'm living your 'words' right now....and as hurtful as your words are to read, they are also so damn beautiful....love this! |

Yes, a kind of elegy to love. A very interesting approach. I never thought of an emotion dying but it's an original concept. I enjoyed reading your poem. |

GREAT poem! Well written, but I have to disagree! Maybe you were just writing to work some things out in your head or heart, but I disagree with you. Love is worth fighting for, love is worth dieing for. If it's not, then it was never real love in the first place, but then that is just my opinion, take it for what you will... I'd be open to debate on the topic |

Love does not die.If it was true love, the memory will be sufice. Loved your words. We have to be strong enough to let a loved one go,be it the love that dies or the person, but we can always have keep the memories. latearrival |

When a poet's first line is "Say what isn't true", prepare to look for hidden meanings. |

easy1, NICE catch! I had forgotten the first line of the poem before I got to the end! Thanks for the reminder and insight for this excellent read! |

Thanks all for the replies and thoughts about my poem "Let Love Die". This poem is about what happens when love, and I do mean true love, is just not returned. Even "True Love" must be forced to implode if it is not returned. The old saying "it takes two" applies here. Thanks again for your imput and kind praise. Z. |
