Put Flowers On Me

Feet that just
Can’t seem to find home.
I straddle my life
Trying to move away,
Trying to look back.

I see all that was,
And can’t find the
Way back to it,
Can’t figure out
The broken puzzle.

There seems to be
Some force at work,
Some unseen reasons
Being pushed upon me
To move on, to find
A brand new morning.
I don’t want it.
I want what I had,
But I think it’s gone for me.

I see what could be
But the courage to reach out
Has long since left my heart.

I’m tired
I think I am gonna just sit here
And wait for something
To come and find me.

If it doesn’t come,
Then just put some flowers on me
And wish me well.

Zeitgeist.

Good read, sad sentiments. Hopefully the writer is not in a concentration camp! Flowers are for the living and hopeful, too... Heck, your poem is a flowering of sorts, so thanks!

Waiting for someone/thing to find you takes alot of determination, I hope they come soon. Enjoyed this.

And if it was the other way around? You go and stretch in midst of flowers and give grace for what you have (or had), then the new mornings are ready to enter your life.

Though we are meant to stand still for moments to allow clarity to flow into our lives, we never are meant to stop moving.

I enjoyed your words.

Change is difficult, especially if you are not the one in charge of what's changing. Reaching out for something new can seem like feeling around in the dark...Good write!ebm

Thanks everyone for your kind words and replies. Every once in awhile I need to let this stuff drip out of me. I used to grab a pen but not I open my lap top...same result.
