mother's tears |

She sat on her motherÕs tissue, The one with the tears from her husbandÕs long battle. Sitting on her tears, like a small child riding his bike, Squeezing his hands even tighter as he makes a sharp turn. Wet and sullen, beneath her skirt, With the words, ÒI love youÓ, no longer a chance, To dream of tomorrow with a long pause of regret, It was this that she touched, like her mother would, as her head bobbed slowly against the settling of the night. She touched her chest, watched the strings of her hair Move slightly across her forehead, Slightly above the touch of her words, Only her shoulder could talk as it sat against her daughterÕs cheek. Only this time they sat together, This time they forgot the night before. |
