Where sand defined sinews of her roots were met By the swell of grain He found the curves of her fit his palms She was a handful That spilled the scent of damp when it grew cloudy And he turned on the lights to better see The way she pleased his fingertips Her silent assent Found tenon in mortised tongue As she remembered sounds of waves Lapping against the moonlit stone So whispered Yes Knowing hands Such as his could mould the remaining knots And that the sheen he polished On neglected skin Would hold Him |
