Dreams, the nasty creatures So, after a long and weary day, we go to bed, time to hit the hay. We leave the known world behind, to enter worlds of another kind. And there such wild places we find. Sometimes filled with monsters from fairy tale, what handsome princes, and maidens pale. Places where there is a villain dark. We shoot an arrow at him, it finds it’s mark. Those beguiling dreams they sneak up in the night. Even when your windows are shut tight. With stealth they creep into our bed. Then they slither into our head. Don’t they have any respect. They need their ambitions checked Then they take us for a feverish ride. Such happiness, such fear, I cannot abide. Such fantasies our brains dream up. To make us fly away in this cruel cup. Only to awake after the whole night long, by birds singing their morning song. “Arise, awake, dear dreamers, get out of bed. There are family member s who must be fed.” So we proceed to another dreary day. If only we could return to dreams and stay. |

While I found this quite clever and I know that a lot of effort had gone into it, I don`t think the word `nasty` is appropriate in one of the opening lines. Still you have captured the beauty and mystery of dreams wonderfully! |
