It's so quiet now that there are no more of your silly words to fill the silence You always were so good with them and they were always there meaningful and meaningless foolish and essential nonsense, silly words that never failed You said them so easily as though they didn't stick to your tongue So unlike me "I love you....I need you....You'll miss me..." Silly words That soothed and aroused that comforted and alarmed It's so obvious now that they're gone It didn't matter so much what they were just that they were Now there's nothing nothing but silence silence as cold as ashes No more laughing No more pleading and no more loving No more of your silly words and no more of you with me just like you used to say If I don't say it...who will? I've always just kinda said what I wanted to say in a way that felt right to me. It used to drive my writing teachers CRAZY. As far as love in the new year - I say bring it on!
