   Autumn Dreams

In this Autumn of life
when there is no one left
to lead nor follow
and one walks alone
with the distant sound
of a twilight bell...
when all love and longing
knows only indifference,
memories and dreams
shall remain ever young
as a wide, wild sea
beneath the ageless stars
  and rising moon.

There is a coming to terms within this poem, but also bravery and finally cherrished memories that will never be dulled by time...they stay fresh as the day they happened and comfort when most needed...thank you for this fine poem...

Bruce - I think I need to quote a very good poet here.  "Sustained applause for this fine penning". It is sad that life should come to this but it does for many of us.  I suspect it's for our benefit but I haven't yet figured out how.

Yes, dear Bruce, you got that right and you said it with your usual mastery.

Love,
