Layla, my dove, my love.

You've spread your wings.
You wanted to fly.
You've been my whole life.
Now you are gone.
What am I to do?
Yes! I know you would have to fly someday.
But I didn't know it would be so soon.

It is not fair!
You were my main purpose of my breathing air!

You were my rock! My heart was complete.
Now, I'm only tiny pebbles hidden in sand drifting away.
I know you won't ever understand.

Welcome to Passions   It is true, that people come into our lives for a reason, but they also leave.  We grow from that union, and take with us what we cared about to the next relationship.  Lovely first post, and oh so true about the loss one feels.

Oh, but...Belle...once they have a child of their own, they will most certainly understand. I know.

I use to call my youngest daughter "Baby". She about had it when she hit 19 and said "Mom, please STOP calling me baby!"

I complied.

A few months after she had her first son, she called me and in tears, said, "Mother, please never stop calling me baby."

my daughter is 22 now and just gave birth to my granddaughter

even though she's in California, she's still closer than ever now

we don't live our lives for our children after they have left the nest but I understand the purpose being while they are there

but now it's time for a new second life of your own!

and welcome to Passions!

Children leaving home is a trying experience.  I am sure that you will recover with time.  It will be okay.
