a 'Universalist' !

0 posted 2010-09-26 05:20 PM

I am from ancient ‘endless’ mountain forests…
the rocks; lakes; and restless spirits
forever lost in a ‘Deep-Time’ dream.

I am from an ancestral Celtic 'collective
(poetic) unconscious' of resolute respect
for our infinitely nested ‘connectedness’
with Earth-mother (Gaia); each other;
and a grand-scintillating universe both
  within and beyond.

I am from a ‘father’ of early America
and a quiet winged hero of the
‘greatest generation’ of W.W. 2.

I am from the ever-roaming wind
on this gentle, moonlit Autumn night
which skirts the tenuous edge
of a sadly vanishing wilderness,
were we may dare to call
that pristine distance ... truth
and the last, best hope for
   all humanity!

         --- b.e. adams (9/26/2010)

[I don't typically 'do' this kind of 'write' ... however,
here I make an exception ... dedicated with
grandest respect to all the "P.I.P.-land by the
cyber-sea" poets who previously replied to the
initial fine words from the volcano's shadow!]

Ahhh, yes you know of connectedness, dear Bruce. This is a very special "I am from" poem. You see it's nice to venture into something different sometimes. I like it very much.

Love,
Margherita

where we are from is as varied and as universal as it would seem we as people are.

Bruce - I think your foray into the "untypical" has been a great success!  Marvelous write - especially this

"I am from the ever-roaming wind
on this gentle, moonlit Autumn night
which skirts the tenuous edge
of a sadly vanishing wilderness,
were we may dare to call
that pristine distance ... truth
and the last, best hope for
   all humanity!"

Wow, secondhand-dreamPoet~! I am so very glad you did, indeed, choose to 'do' one of these type poems; it is a gift to the rest of us, as readers...     Adore your peek into the grandeur, and your masterful use of language... forgive the tardiness in replying, I have been very busy (a death in the family, a relative, not immediate family.)    Thanks for understanding!
Wonderful, captivating write!
Best~

I think you need to do "this kind of write" more often, Bruce. This is simply amazing. A keeper for me.
