If our mortal journey has come to an end.
If we have no more advice to lend.
If our feet no longer make an impression.
If we have no more impact on this life’s session.
If no one wants us around.
If our voice fails to make a sound.
If the world knows not our existence.
If our life’s journey is all past tense.
If we have no roads left to turn on to.
If there’s no where left to travel to.
If everyone left doesn’t care.
If there are no more reasons to be there.

Then we quest for another destination.
Then we listen for signs of frustration.
Then we step harder on the ground.
Then we have to jump up and down.
Then we try a new location.
Then we give our voice a new vocation.
Then we shine brighter day and night.
Then we find a new reason to fight.
Then we go back the way we came.
Then we travel new roads to tame.
Then we search for a bit of compassion.
Then we see its all here at Passions!

Dakota,

As one of the initial members several years ago, when I saw this space exactly as you see it now...

makes me think, say, breathe...thank you.

I have had only a small part...Ron, Nan, Kit, Poet deVine have done so much...then there were the Moderators, 'Deer, Michael, and so many others...who managed this site. That you see it as pristine....[and that is how I read your poem]

then all is as it should be.

Dakota, I notice you have a '2000' as sign-up date year...

Enjoyed reading this, even if---like the biblical Magi---sometimes we can't go back exactly the way we came.
