Call me old fashioned but I like this style of haiku better than the one in which lines overlap.  Give me four distinct lines that can stand on their own.  It is the Japanese way. I know that Westerners want to adapt haiku to their taste and that is fine but I prefer a Japanese sensibility.  This is a lovely example of one. ----- Did you know that in Japanese there isn`t a plural form?  There is no `is` or `are`.  There is no `s` to make nouns plural.  It is a bit odd for me to write `haikus` in English.

Hello, Margherita. What a beautiful haiku. I really love the line about energy. Yes, the energy of the moon, the tides, the silver energy of night and dark green pines, all wonderfully expressed. Have you written haiku before? You seem to have a natural talent for it.

Thank you, my dear Poet friends, for your kind replies. I enjoyed them much.

Dear Earl, you are the expert. I love to write them, but of course I understand it will never be possible to reach Japanese perfection in this realm of haiku.

Dear Bastet, as I said I love to write them, to pack some sense into just a few words is a gratifying exercise. But I am not an expert. If it pleases you you might go into my collection of poems where you will find many haiku poems throughout the years.

Love to all.

"hey moon, please forget to fall down."
oh, to lasso the moon .. and draw it close to our hearts. normally i am not a fan of haikus, but you  created a profoundly serene and beautiful image.
