a blue, too lavish
in the adamant light, glistens
like a blade,
resembles a key,
resembles a cure,
for extraordinay fevers,
shears asbestos spores from the lungs,
wrung into a halo of tears, aquiver
in the night's breadbox, empty,

the cock,
the cuckoo,
and the bell cricket coo
under a banished moon, to woo
the anorexic elms as they throb
their mauve omens upon dove-fastened downs,
a blue murder of tattered wings,
entrails in the wind, whipping
the black ribbons

I wear,
bluing the salt bath, akimbo,
as I bob for apples, all dollface
in a trough,
full of spoiled milk,
and the soiled lace at my hem,
cerulean, the dress I wore

one fine day,
gathered tightly at the waist,
taffeta, the veins at my wrists
are vassals to the ruined heart,
with all its velvet, misty parts,
a cage of bone, calcium
to hold the soul awhile in glass,

above the votive gold of lamplight,
the damp night reeks its black Opium,
an open, smoking honeycomb, drips
upon a Rorschach dream,
where wasps suck clean the screaming throats
of bloated roses,
and in violent pink moments,
can swallow a hare whole,
strike down a soft-winged bird
with their terse and conspicuous bells,

a-tinker,
against the glass pane,
wrought iron chimes
are lined with sullied tinfoil,
and fashioned from the braided rope
I weave
and weave
and weave,
into these old wedding veils
of beads and muslin,

I burn,
with the blue salt
of every voluptuous vanishing point
in the body's silk, disappearing,
down the hedge,
goes the old fairytale tortoise,
a trundling relic,
nothing but a trestle burdened with thirst,
enslaved in some eternal race,

I trace
the raised mosaic of its shell,
and suck from my own fingers
the dusty hatchings that hide an island heart,
this haunted stone, a blue too lavish,
glistens, an isotope
backlit in its reluctant stupor,
the vessel's eternal pulp pinks,
imperishable upon a counterpane,
inverse,

a blade,
a key
a cure, laid bare.

Beautiful!  Is this part of a new series?  I must update my collection of your work one of these fine days.  I couldn't pick one thing to highlight as one leads to illuminate the next, as usual.

Ah, the typical Bel1e-journey... an exhilerating experience of language, image, sense and metaphor... sublime!
