Sing/heart/sing
the earthwhite hymn
of the sepia cock,
hurling its vehemence
through the suckling nerves
at the tremulous throat, taut,
its entrails shuck eternity in a sole hour,
stolen from the perilous, perilous scent
of the myrrh flower, curling
down its length as it murmurs, undulant
sweet nothings to the wet laurels, white
the delicate silk pellicles split
each time a touch takes us closer
to the vertigo edge of night,

gone so far, the soul, deafens
and stills in its granite shroud,
the loud tyranny of moonlight
mocks the tethered gait of the body,
and I burn to escape its sable fevers,
and lace its limbs in slim ecstasies,
the skin seizures under radiant bulges,
sings at a truer depth,

where only the perilous, perilous dream
can resist the velvet heartbreak of your lips,

closed over love's lazy rhapsody, locked
in its muted hemlock dirge, so bruised, slips
the blue vertigo depths of grace,
as it twists in a double helix thrust of fate,
coats its silver over the bare matrix of the heart,
immersed in milky secrets, weak with love,
an easy onslaught soothes an absolute surrender
to calm the slender, earthwhite body into bliss,
sing/heart/sing.
