Are We There Yet? |

Have we all gone insane in the face of this change? Is there no more heart and soul, just this material droll? Oh how I wish to have lived in the past But lost now, my genius never to be unmasked. Climb that ladder child, for what reason? To make the big man's wallet fatter, shh..that's treason. We've been on this highway of self-destruction for years. Are we there yet? Is it over, can it be over? Long ago, a man told me of my sister, our sister. Now she's gone, we don't love her anymore, But oh how we need her, look at the darkness hanging over her shoulder. Times, they say, are worse than ever. I don't know much of this, but of one thing I'm certain. This fear instilled in us all is enough to keep me stuck to this wall. My mind's now blank, I can't finish these lines. Perhaps because of the uncertainty of these troubled times. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Just wait for the sign, my waving hand. |

Pretty good first post imho. That fear is what happens when gangsters get too much power across the board. Hopefully things get better real soon. I very much enjoyed your symbol of hope at the end of this poem. |
