I am from  ...

I am from a brave young woman’s dream
painted in golden letters upon murky skies.

I am from transparent green eyed waters
sprinkled with linden dust by summer winds,
from gentle waves endlessly lapping
and chatting to familiar rocky shores.

I am from white haired mountain peak men
that overtowered my childhood fairyland,
from forests that wrapped me in resin scent,
from flower meadows and freedom songs.

I am from strict rules longing to be broken,
from church bells that loved open windows
to ring forever tunes of home in heart echoes,
from dark halls crowded with silent ghosts
who watched me run but never got hold of me.

I am from my Mother’s avant-garde mind
bloomed in midst of yesterday mentalities,
from crazy chronometered time schedules
and creeping guilt for just strolling around.

I am from the Circus Knie winter quarters
from meetings with elephants and acrobats,
from concerts under magical starry skies
which made me ache for the big wide world.

I am from loving kindness and pure innocence,
from love, from love, from love
and yes, it’s the absolute truth:

I am from the stars above.

Bluesy, that is also one of my favorite parts from Marge`s poem; to quote Sagan: "The cosmos is also within us; we`re made of stardust"... certainly true of our Margherita!

You are too kind, my dear Amaryllis and dear Lori. Thank you so much for the loving comments.

The theme no doubt represents a great source of inspiration and Amaryllis' poem really carried me away with its charm and I could not resist ...

Love and hugs.

Wow...I simply adore this piece and how well you convey your personal magic...pure talent.

Perhaps we are related, lol, because I connect with much of "where you are from," although I could not tell it the way you have. But I can say I've got someone (you) to look to in the stars

Wondrous writing, dear Margherita. Thanks for a fine read.

.
It's all good, but I find these lines most telling:

quote:
I am from my Mother's avant-garde mind
bloomed in midst of yesterday mentalities,
from crazy chronometered time schedules
and creeping guilt for just strolling around.

I am from the Circus Knie winter quarters
from meetings with elephants and acrobats,
from concerts under magical starry skies
which made me ache for the big wide world.

Such is not merely from the land of the ice and snow, but also from worthy caring and ecstatic wonder!

You're such Pisces, Margherita. This is something I might write if I had your talent. It just dances across my still childlike imagination.

Thank you, dear Eusta B. Mae, for your loving comment. Looking at our past and at our origins is therapeutic in a way. I find I could go on for a long time, like in a stream of consciousness ... Be inspired to write your own!

Dear Regina, thank you so much for your very kind reply. I am positive that we have many things in common ... stars are the most beautiful playground for poets. Let's meet to play then!

Dear Martie, we all are from Love, but we tend to forget! Thank you, dear heart, for your sweet words.

Dear D., it's nice to have you visit! Thank you for taking the time. There are indeed infinite layers that form our "upbringing".

Ecstatic wonder! Yes, that's it! We should always maintain this ability! Thank you, dear Easy1, for your loving comment.

Dear Rosepetal, thank you so very much for reading and agreeing!

Dear Ida, yes, it's that touch of a heart still able to wonder like a child, that brings loving harmony into our friendship. Thank you so much, I enjoyed your comment.

Love and joy. I invite all of you to write a personal "I am from ...", it would be very nice to read you too. Get inspired by Amaryllis' poem, reading it or reading it again.

Love,
Margherita
