I watched a hole
in the afternoon sky
from which a puppy fell
bouncing cloud to billowy cloud
'til it landed on
a crumpled cranberry towel

I cried a blue tear
a white tear
another blue tear
while the puppy
staggered away
never
looking
back

Yesterday,
traveling to a forever
after glow
I saw the dolphins spinning
in an ocean's skyview show

Dolphins seem to be the king
and queen of ocean's play
I saw them on the gleam of knowing
I had a goodbye to say

That you teared up at your
observance, knowing it caused a swell
means that you're observant,
I know a poet, well.
