Drawing 1, details of finished view lain flat Fine lines are scribed upon blue Prints of the leaves and fall seen within the lack Of colour that is clear when held to light 53 wishes come as watermarks upon the vellum to lay beneath the arch and portico as might too the wreaths of Mass sung to a winter sun Scrawled along the margins, feathers Pick a vacancy of flight to adorn page And cover small rips upon the edges Thumb worn from use and neglect Woven ends of willow hold the walls and roof As discarded branches of 11PM escape With closed eyes and slow stumbled moans born in cork and crystal glass poured before Rough hands mould the wattle pushed with fingered regrets into the crevices left Drawing 2, insight of inside views Shown as design of pine cones within natures need To always house the embryonic Till sterile feeds only pleasures as you please It is an easy fix to acquiesce the moment In hues of finger painted pause Crown moulding replaced by thorns Adorns the skin coat with tastes of autumn Smoke of small fires the umber as mixes well With base of white sheets dried upon the wire 30 left behind the faith of stained glass and sees coming winter as a passageway through halls to be decked with merriment slow bound in skeins of yarn the wind knits drafts along the frame as one hears the slow sadness of notes from ivory and brass baritone in sly tones under currents flow a slow brag of virility as Ace of Clubs struts an unawares of love Drawing 3, incomplete images withdrawn Blank white on blue Fingers reach to the end of pen but fail to draw ink from veins Leaving vacuum too great for spark of divinity The Sistine ceiling still azure with cloud Leonardo’s work shorted There is no hand of God Outstretched wings a partial enfolding grace The image ends prayer left unsaid the covenant of rings still stands incomplete lacking depth enough to sustain but cutting words remain Insert drawing 4 An aftermath of storm torn twigs whose finger hold On the earth broke free We see the mute swan as food for wolfen tongue And roll the flavour of spring upon hard packed floors Await amid dormancy of sighs faith here too lies prone Tumbled of windswept stone Risks exist along the foundation Cracked mud and straw contractors print along the bottom edge takes note woodcuts and etchings are the norm free hand is bound with a pearl of knots Drawing 5, removed Hands let go the scroll Curling in upon the curve it forms a roll That tossed upon the hearth kindles fat wood twigs Into blaze Of warm |
