it wasn't only my dissatisfaction with caustic cowboys
that provided the verve to help instill their absolution
it was more just the afternoon being disgustingly parched
and that laborsome walk to the quarters for horses and cows

wyatt already knew well, as I had always stated sincerely
that I was born in the wrong era for genteel happiness
still he beckoned me away from my contentment of whiskey
and a hand full of kate’s aces, or at least 3's or perhaps 4's

he borrowed my favorite gift from the brother masterson
and gave me instead some soiled double barreled heathen
to hide beneath my coat and then expose like private parts
with a blaze of attention gathering poetry there, later on

he stated we  should all wait until they began the debate
so the onlookers might give justice to our deliberation
but my whiskey was becoming quite restless by then
and I imagined my kate was also having urges of indecency

so beginning their ending most certainly seemed to be timely

Write boredom on my watch anytime.  Love this - but what haven't I loved that you wrote?  I'd have to go back and check and I am too damned lazy.

Reads like there's more to this story. If so, definitely share.

Enjoyed!

I agree, this seems to be only a little piece of a very interesting series you are writing?  If so, where is the one about Kitty?     Loved this.

You are the dark master for capturing in words individuals born in the wrong era, who refuse to enjoy genteel happiness.

Very smooth. Though my unsophisticated mind often has difficulty with your content, this one I get. That’s not to say that this piece is anything less than your norm in quality and form, just that I’ve had enough spirits this evening to make it work for me. Perhaps knowing something of the background on this also helps. A toast to you and yours Dark One.

interesting that the only one to go down and stay down in that fight, that is without other shots being fired into them...was the one who got hit by that heathen...

your description here...both poetic and fitting, especially in the twist of what it spouts as poetry..

enjoying the series sir... glad I found this one.
