The Sun that shone forever -Until it didn't- led lovers through endeavors man-made And through the mad man's mane The heartless mind And soulless body Let down their dreams In the bed of undying posies. There's a revolution going on, they say Brother upon brother Upon sister, upon brother Below all sycamores, resides a shadow Where all the timid beings are born In absence of the Sun. They say lovers could see at night -Perhaps they shouldn't- They would rather pick out a basket of roses Something nice. Bitter floral aftertastes linger Can you hear the crimson echo? The source of it died nicely A vase, rather than a basket. There's a solution to be salved, they say Wound upon warrior Upon his garish mount. The laurel wreath, Not quite as victorious, Could not be maligned by the purpose Of a flower in the sky. |
