Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

Muted morning filters
through a dog-kissed window
gray silence broken
by whispered key strokes
and a cat with heavy paws

Cool!!...although, looking through that 'dog-kissed' window could be pretty blurry...

oh~~
I love this...for an obscure reason of my own I suppose.. It allowed me to see a series of pieces about love.. from the perspective of the cat..

a prologue indeed... to the day perhaps as it was intended... but what an opening piece it could be...

hey~~ no one said i was entirely sane...

I truly enjoyed!

This is so reminiscent of NW coastal mornings, and the sliding glass doors that go into my back yard.  We recently lost our dog, though, and his nose prints against the glass....  Sometimes a neighbors cat walks along a 2X4 on our backyard fence.

There is something so plaintive about this poem that lies like the sleepy mists of morning in my mind.

Talented poetess you are, Alison!

Alison this Alison-poem is very beautiful, as you don't need to be told.  I am sure you will know which are my 2 favourite lines!

Klassy Lassy - tears for the loss of your dog.  Just know that he is with Flicka my horse and Daisy my dog and that they will have met him at the gates of Heaven and will have introduced him to everyone and shown him around Heaven and will be helping to make his every day happy.

Owl, I have tears, too, at your tender response to the loss off our dog. He was such a good dog, and very intelligent.  It was very hard to let him go, but he was in a lot of pain, and my heart wells at his faithfulness.   LOL,  I could always count on him to greet everyone, to keep other animals out of the driveway, and to roll in the dirt as soon as we bathed him.

Thank you for your lovely heart!  I like to think heaven is a joy for animals, too, and he certainly gave us that!

My dog kisses our windows, but I prefer not to wash it off. This poem, written so eloquently, definitely brings back memories of last year. Thanks for that. -Rileigh

Delightful, and not dull. Thanks for sharing that one.

Alison, I am sure you will forgive me for talking to Klassy Lassy through your poem.  I wanted to email her about her doggy, but she doesn't have an email icon in Pip and I looked in my Pip emails, and I don't have it there either.

Thank you Klassy Lassy (if I remember correctly, your name is Karen - or am I mistaken?) for your kind response to my message to you.  Thank you even more for loving your doggy and giving him such a happy life.  He is now your guardian angel and will be watching over you.

Allison,
I like how you have captured a moment. To me, a captured moment is like a photot in words. Thanks!
