You touched me today Seeing their splendor- Those vibrant insects With wings of color. You shared their secret Of how they are freed, From their shelter warm; To work is their need. As you spoke, your eyes Behind me looked by. A most lovely one Was not able to fly. Only you saw its pain. No sound could it hear, As slowly you walked So not to cause fear. Cupping your large hands You patiently moved. Scooping it gently Your kindness you proved. You brought it to me Sharing more that you knew Of these beautiful Creatures with amazing hue. Its struggle was hard One tiny leg bent. Your compassion told you It was time that it went. A side never seen Of you - perfect part. You touched me today Right through to my heart. |

So tender and beautifully expressed, I would say your pen imitated the softness of butterfly wings. Just watched an amazing documentary yesterday evening about a butterfly garden in Singapore, where the keeper puts the newborn butterfly upon the open palms of a visitor from where it starts for its first flight. Oh, what an emotion! Love, Margherita See: http://www.newasia-singapore.com/places_to_go/animal_kingdom/butterfly_park_and_insect_kingdom_2007053112.html |

Thank you so much for reading and commenting on my poem. I have noticed that the butterflies have been abundant this year and so gorgeous. The wonders of nature- amazing. |
