The plain and the pretty
which one to pity
The plain ones get the husband
the kids and the home
The pretty ones get used and abused
then dumped and alone

The plain ones envy the pretty
to be adored by men
to flirt and be witty

The pretty ones evny the plain
to have the family and home
to feel love, not pain

The plain ones say...
"My world is dull and so boring
I need excitment, need life!"

The pretty ones say...
"I'm lonley and cry every morning
Oh to be loved, to be a wife!"

If they could only swap places
to experience each other's strife
To look into each other's faces
to realize they each have a good life

The plain and the pretty
There's no one to pity

This poem is well structured and flows well.  I hope that the plain and the pretty both will find love.

I'll echo the Dark Man... it is so often what is inside that is important, much more so to the ones who've lived enough to know the difference.

well structured...enjoyed the read

Wow what a write.. and the best part is, irl one can be pretty AND loved, a wife!!   While yes, I suppose one can also be plain and alone..
.
Thanks for the thought-provoking read!
