and so I write on, ride on
go on, with my story

in the quiet, in the vague fleeting starlight
in the few moments of peace I steal

in my little corner of the world
on a small patio
on the back side of a street, looking up, looking onward
past the concrete
past the hundreds of little windows that all lay empty
and there are, there are a plenty

now that the work day is done
on the far side
on the backside
of the street

and in those moments
as sunlight fades and glades away
the shadows change

who knows how the heart is made
in whatever splendor's foliage color will shade
come the months, summer, fall, winter, spring
to the month of May

what then, shall those tender hearts say?
what then, shall these tender hearts sing?

Beautiful use of internal rhyme and assonance.. quite a dreamy little read, here!

Oh how poetic of you to say so!     What a nice scene you have painted with your poem.

Lovin' it!!

very nice... indeed a moments reflection, a pause and the idea of continuation, of change and uncertainty, without...
the dread or scold of heart.

Enjoyed!  There must be something magical about the month of May - it has popped up in my writing quite often.

The month of May, my favorite month which also has my birthday, my 3 sister's birthdays, and my Dad's birthday. Enjoyed your poem.
