.

How different
It would have been

Even now
At this distance
I know that sun
Meant for two as one
In love could have shined
For the both of us

What a world
We would have made
In some happily obscure
Hidden part of it
Our whole lives
Lived in light

If only
Instead of her
It was you
Not merely a picture
Down in the corner
Of a page

Smiling
Looking out
On the future
Passing by
In my ignorance

With such beautiful softly
Wonderfully intelligent eyes

Unrequited love does inspire but it does not bring happiness.

Words, pictures, tuneful sounds; regrets, suffering physically and emotionally---what a strange world this is sometimes!

At least semi-understood and appreciated.

I enjoyed this, you portray the ache of unfulfilled possibility with great poignancy. - Anya
