. Sometimes We meet by the sea My brother and I It seems now One of the compensations Of his being no wiser Is getting no older with the years He still believes— has faith Thinks— if one can call it that That somehow someway not Subject to fact or reason things Will make sense and turn out Heaven in the end He asks me how you are I tell him I don’t know . . . To tell the truth I’ve grown more than tired Of the question Still I don’t Have the heart—yes I have one To disabuse him of his dreams So I sigh he smiles we say goodbye I watch him the sun going down Causes a glow around him As he disappears That stupid young man I was so very long ago Somewhere nowhere And always there . |

Interesting, evocative---whether the brother described is memories of self, or an actual sibling. I would merely observe that lack of timely information does not always denote lack of native intelligence. |

. Thank You By the way, stupidity is not the absence but the neglect of intelligence . . . Often love is not blind, just willfully . . . Thanks again John . |
