this thought comes to me, If we were happy Would we think of the others, Would we look for Eyes to see us? Would write we texts To fill us with illusions, This thought comes to me If we were happy Would we look for a sense In the light of stars, Would we try to explain The mysteries of the ocean, Or the soft fearful laws Of the dew in our ideas This thought comes to me, This small fragile thought If we were happy Would think we of us, Would think we of God? |

I think even if we were happy, we would stil be curious. It's the nature of human beings to be curious about things around us. |

It is an interesting question, and a well-put one here. For my 2ยข, I will opine that the enemies of happiness are firstly wretchedness, and secondly the perception we are being wasted here in this life. Decent treatment and a decent (and challenging) task or tasks are the answer on that level. I do not believe that such happiness ever estranges us from our Creator, from love, or from compassion. |
