What do you do when the source of your problem is faceless
You try to explain to people how you feel
But they say your claims are baseless
Frustrations building up faster than the overdue bills on the counter
No options or opportunities available
You keep telling yourself to look up
Despite your situation looking like a complete downer
Finding solace in comfort foods
Until you notice your mid section getting a little rounder
The seeds of depression are growing in your mind
And getting worse with time
But there's that voice telling  you to never give up
Stay driven, determined, and persistent
This is an everyday struggle
This is the resistance

An all too common situation these days, especially with the current economic reality of the rich getting richer and the rest of us getting poorer.

Well put in these words. I am reminded of the old show tune "A Cock-Eyed Optimist" (at least somewhat).

Sad, but try to remember, these are very hard times for everyone, perhaps giving you no solance...however, it is true...there are so many people out there suffering.
I'm sending you hugs

Now there's some words to live by. I think you were channeling Winston Churchill at the end there. At least that's how I heard it.

"We'll chase them like rats across the tundra."
