I'm in pain
It's my own doing

love, guilt and shame

I hurt the one I love
Life will never be the same

Was my life worth it?
Did I waste it away?
I made too many mistakes

If only I could go back
To start over would be oh so nice
To do things right this time

Looking back...and playing the what if game, leads us to regrets. Looking forward, and learning from our mistakes, leads us to hope..

a universal set of emotions in this write....I doubt there are many if any of us who can not look back and see where we lost someone, where we made mistakes...

Thanks everyone. It's been four years since my divorce and the pain has passed. I have a new man in my life and we are very much in love. He is a past love from 25yrs ago that came back into my life.

Sounds like you have the opportunity to do it over and correct the mistakes. How lucky you are to have an old love back in your life. I think relationships between old flames can be very special.
