Scorn Not His Simplicity Do not think his eyes see less than others see Just because they look different than yours Do not think he sees less than you see Because the mind behind those eyes is different He sees more than you will ever see He sees all peoples in love and trust, without prejudice He sees the world anew each day, with joy in his eyes Those eyes see each rainbow, each flower and each smile His eyes do not see hate, distrust, or greed They don't see the way we hurt each other He doesn't see meanness or evil in others So do not think he sees less than others Scorn not his simplicity for he lives in a better world than we His world is made up of love and trust and newness Do not try to show him what you see, he won't see it Wish only that you could share in his vision |

Scorn is one of those words like hate , in my book anyway. It's one I don't use often since it is such a strong emotive word, but I agree, we should not scorn anothers world or anothers view... this is a touching piece and has both a protective and a sensitive nature to it that I think is admirable. |

You did a good job because that is what I saw in the writing. Having been close to a couple of these children I know their innocence is just pouring from them. Thank you. latearrival |

There is at least some of Watteau's Gilles in every artist as well, although often overcompensated for with outward bitterness (and sometimes. less worthily, hypocritical scorn). An enjoyed read here. |
