I saw you outside the market today just as the sun passed overhead erasing shadows a sweep of hand pushed red gold spider web hair from your warm neck you threw a long leg over your bike turned your head and were gone again for years I have watched the shadow of your mouth sip red zinger tea from the old blue mug I found amidst dust in the good will store for years I have seen the shadow of your hand reach for my face I have seen it but never felt it for years the nights we spent in the cottage in Truro have lain quietly on my shoulder the shadow of your voice curled gently in my ear for years I have watched your shadow on the wall rise and walk away I saw you outside the market today your hair gone gray your bike rusty I saw you outside the market today just as the sun passed overhead erasing shadows |

I think I got it! Correct me if I'm wrong. This is about watching your shadow grow up with you. Kat >^..^< |

^An astute observation. Yet there are all sorts of shadows... Never been to Cape Cod personally, yet, but I would't mind going there under good circumstances someday. An intriguing read. |

I understand...and it is funny how shadows can hang around, and when w think the sun has wiped them clean, we fnd an evening or a morning, that brings them back again... nicely done ma'am.... |

And you swept me away with the shadows, leaving me with a lump in my throat. I think it's a reslut of how beautifully you write, Kate. Thank you. Alison |

I hope this wasn't Pan's shadow, Kate... I had a Peter P. in my life once... I try to only remember the shadows of laughter. This was very good... as for critique? None needed here. |

This one scares the crap outta me. He and I talk about it all the time, like talking about it is some kind of talisman... Be well, dear Lady, and well wishes to The Gentleman too. |
