Sometimes late at night When you’re asleep I touch your hair I have no real Understanding of why You are lying there Softly breathing In the same air as I Here in this room With its nothing Special furniture in a Nondescript neighborhood At the edge of a lost Forever town What was it I did or said when Or where was I so good That you then came to me To share in now and Be the life I have Outside the moon Slowly moves across The autumn sky The leaves and years Are falling away And yet Because of you I’m not afraid . |
