She was singing as if the stage was her own as if she could be the audience and watch herself, where the minutes watched her move, then rewinded to watch her again. It was on this stage, She could let herself feel real, let her hair glance at the floor while she danced until her shoes would run dry. It was here where she made the pain leave along the rainy basins that waited outside, where her dull thoughts became fire with the wind, She kept waiting, waiting until she could return To a place where she could love herself like the fleeting thoughts she had as a child, It was her night to let go, to be on a ledge and never fall, and chase the chills until she could stand along the gasping night run her voice through it's chills and gather the sun for another meeting, Another day of thoughts, of bittersweet goodbyes, It was here, on this stage, She could get away. |
