She watched me as the world does With the hawks at her feet The lovely sight of her Blossom toes Riding along as the sunset does And I said hello. I looked at her like the Night does as we sleep, And we exchanged smiles with her narrow shoulders Broadening for a slight path into her, Into the world of hers Where it’s a bit colder, A bit lonelier, but it’s us, On the stage of each other’s mouths On the lips of our dreams She watched me from afar, From the easy path, the easy cars riding high, Riding towards me, watching me And I said hello. |
