Sitting in the garden with soft light playing along ivy covered trellises and the sound of rushing water from a fountain near by I open my eyes and think of only you Inhale the scents of freshly turned earth and new life fill my senses with thoughts and longing for you In this garden lush and green Warm breezes brush against my face and slow footsteps sound on the stone path behind me I hold my breath and pray that they're yours I'm waiting in the garden As birds sing accompaniment to my wishes...my dreams the trees dip and sway a timeless waltz and the flowers open their petals in a timeless offering Even the distant sound of laughter heightens my anticipation Myself, the birds, the trees the flowers, and even the fountain's rushing water tremble and sigh in unison In the garden lush and green with the sunlight on my shoulders and the warm breezes on my face I sit and wait for only you If I don't say it...who will? My, oh my, tremble and sigh! Most of us know what such waiting is like, and you have described that and the physical setting very beautifully here. |
