          Forest Evening Calm

Walk the deep-forest evening calm
with murmuring mountain spirits
through profound and gentle moonlight,
the balm of all forlorn and fragile hearts
   or wounded souls,
transcending fears and cares of the day,
that drift away with the ebbing echoes
   of distant vesper bells,
forgiving ‘life’ …
beneath an infinite mantle of
   tremulous stars.

I would love to take a walk in the forest. There is no greater calm, No better place to take your sorrows. You say it so well.

Sounds wonderful, Bruce. That's how I feel some days just relaxing around here although it is not forest-like.

I wish I had the energy in this heat to take a bike ride along the trail here. The sites and sounds are beautiful.

this has a very calm and gentle tone...
and we can all find reason to need just that in our lives
