The road of dreams |

The road of dreams twists and turns, climbs mountains then down again, and sometimes hugs with all its might the grand and glorious sea. There are no signs along the way to warn of humps and bumps or potholes that wait with evil intent or dead ends and circular routes. So I travel and travel like one unnerved by the stress of the unexpected but this remains an unconscious event until by chance I drive over a cliff and know I’ve come at last to the end of a beautiful dream. But dreams create and recreate roads again, again, and again, and insert sneakily magnetic strips that attract the dreamers, you see. Attracted then by the dream I am dreaming I remain forever and ever a beautiful dream traveller! Helen / 26 June 2010 |

There are lots of good things about this poem, the imagery, the timelessness. The longer stanza threw me but I think it fits. A poet must leave traces of his passing not proof. |

Oh gosh Helen don't tell me you dream about driving off cliffs too, especially into the ocean... yikes! God I hate that dream. But I love this poem. Lets meet together in the next dream like that and drive a convertable right over the cliff, Thelma and Louise style (I'll wear a wig) and crush that fear together alright? Quarter to nine sound okay? See ya then Richard xx |

This sounds to me like a real dream you are describing. How very creative of you to be able to make a poem out of a dream. Beautifully done. |

Thanks, Bobby. Glad you liked. Kethry - Thank you so much. Richy - It's a date but could we please change the venue and lose the wig? A picnic maybe under a tall oak tree? Bastet - Oh, yes, I write of the dream and the dream is called "life". Thanks. Helen |

Sounds great Helen but I'm bringing my Elvis wig anyway, in case I decide to break out some, Love Me Tender... Meet me under the tree shaped cloud in the sky with the blue ribbon around it. I'll be behind the smile, with the flowers and wine. |
