i wrote this one while i was out to sea on the submarine that i served on. On a submarine, Life just stands still. Nowhere to go, Nowhere to hide. In the same ol’ routine, With the same faces to see. Nothing ever changes, But, nothing ever stays the same. They’re all different people, With all different attitudes, All with good days and bad ones. Everyone onboard is here for different reasons. But, when out to sea, Everyone comes together for a greater purpose. That purpose is to get home safely. Simple enough, yeah, you can say that. But, it can be harder than you think. In this microcosm and this brotherhood You make and loose a lot of friends, All the time, But, hey, that’s submariners’ life, What can we do? |

Nice narrative. A poet must leave traces of his passing not proof. |
