My Most Charming Prince,

by the time I was done writing,
you had disappeared inside me,

an absence bound
by the wet dreamscape of your skin,

the body, but a token
of the thought that made it,

yet, I counted years
by those bruised moments of light,

let me, bring you the night,
for somewhere in its pitch,
is a song tingling in the cold,

your absence, a distant set of coordinates
marked on a brittle map,

X recedes solemnly ahead,
our tremulous compass skittered in haywire abandon,

sadly, the current is so strong
only the drowned can decipher it,

sadly, there is no simple way to say this,

it turns itself into longing,
screws itself into a plea,

you've no idea how my bare ankles ache
upon their icy perch, all useless
and porcelain in their manacles,

sadly, the slipper wasn't but fur,
but a mistake,
lost in its translation,

for verre [glass],

love is nothing but illusion,

for too long I've cradled this tooth ache,
hold me down, and I'll let you,

bid me violence and storm,
and by the time I was done writhing,

you had disappeared inside me,

an absence dissolves upon the wet dreamscape of skinned knees,
buckling beneath the current,

the body but a token
of the thought that made it rise from night,

sadly, there's a song lost somewhere in its pitch,

sadly, the current is so strong,
only the drowned may decipher it.

A good read... I think my favorite lines are the song tingling in the night reference. The longing here is palpable and very well expressed.
