Summer Sun adds sweat to my brow As I toil in a day too long and bright, Yet I continue my struggle for now. It just a garden too small to plow In need of weeding to set it right, Summer Sun adds sweat to my brow Thirsty the leaves shrink and bow From little water and too much light, Yet I continue my struggle for now. With my efforts it survives somehow Resting with a cool drink every night, Summer Sun adds sweat to my brow When finished my toil in soil I will allow Myself to rest away from the sunlight Yet I continue my struggle for now. The garden’s survival is a minor vow Flowers to enhance my daily sight, Summer Sun adds sweat to my brow, Yet I continue my struggle for now. Gloom |

We who toil and wipe sweat from our brows will smile insistently when the fruits of our labour begin to show. Beautifully done.
