Carry On I’ve looked at your face all my life and know not who you are I know of every blemish and I’ve counted every scar I’ve been with you as time has etched a road map ‘cross your face I’ve seen the looks of happiness, of sadness, and disgrace I’ve seen you try and cheer up friends and try to best advise All the while saddened feelings you chose to disguise I’ve seen you look into my eyes and try to figure out Why so much pain has to accompany our lives throughout I’ve seen when you were under stress and took a long deep breath I saw when you were told that you might face an early death I saw you at a funeral, and how you looked so torn I saw the looks of wonder every time each child was born I’ve seen you look so confident like you could save the world I’ve seen you at the bottom when your whole life came unfurled I’m sorry I gave up on you I never thought I would I’d ask you for forgiveness if I thought it’d do some good I worry that sometimes you’re going to fall and not get up I worry you’ll throw in the towel and say you’ve had enough I’ve heard you talk to others about promise’s and hope It’s time you stopped pretending as if you know how to cope I want to see the stars at night and feel the ocean breeze I want to smell the flowers as I walk among the trees I’m begging you to try and help me see another dawn Yes you there in the mirror I need for you, to carry on |

This is just great. I'm going to go right out and buy a mirror, haven't seen the 'real' me in years. Really well done Richy. |

Richy I am new to this, but this is a beautiful poem, and it touches me deeply in so many ways. I can relate to some of it very well. |

Ooooooh, the irony of it all!!! I like to think at my ripe old age, some of the pieces of life's puzzle are starting fit, when in fact they were there all along. Isn't life strange, a turn of the page! I so enjoy reading your thoughts, and all the places they go and where they take me. Warm hugs for you, Richy~ |

Richy - a most touching write, actually felt your words. "I want to see the stars at night and feel the ocean breeze I want to smell the flowers as I walk among the trees" These words are so longing, very incredible... BC |
